Traveling and Staycationing in Maui for the Budget Conscious Family

Maui is quickly becoming the next Maldives, catering to wealthy vacationers who are looking for a slice of paradise. Maui has always been a popular destination for tourists, but now it is becoming increasingly unaffordable for the average person. The cost of accommodation, food, and activities has skyrocketed in recent years, making it difficult for anyone but the rich to enjoy Maui to its fullest. Nevertheless, Maui continues to be a popular destination for those who can afford it, and it will likely continue to cater to the wealthy in the future.

These days, it seems like it is more difficult to staycation in Maui. But for locals, it's not always as relaxing as it sounds. With the influx of tourists, there are often very few affordable places around.

Our family is a campervan fan and enthusiast. We have road-tripped up and down the California coast in our campervan and with young children who frequently needed bathroom breaks, snacks, and clean-ups/warm showers, this has been a game changer for seeing the sites and nature. It is easy to park-we even paralleled-parked it on the curvy and hilly streets of San Francisco. It's small enough to fit into a regular parking spot!

Furthermore, campervanning is a solution to affordability for families. It is a hotel and car rental all in one. Simply explore the island, and book campsites. Campervanning is a great way to see the island and get around without having to worry about finding a place to sleep or worry about your safety. With our campervan, you can enjoy the island at your own pace and budget. Let me say that again, you can go at your own pace. Breathe, relax, rest, put up your feet. There is no need to watch the clock or be on the tour guide’s schedule. This is the freedom of traveling in a campervan.

Our campervan can accommodate a larger family of six and sleeps 4 large adults, but we have tents for the extra two without beds in the campervan. It comes with 2 queen beds, a kitchen with two stoves, a refrigerator, a sink, warm water, an indoor toilet, and shower, an outdoor shower, heater for the whole campervan if you plan to sleep in the cold Haleakala mountains, dining table with captain chairs that turn completely around, beddings, towels, kitchenwares, and beach chairs. It has enough room to hold a surfboard and boogie boards.

We love Kamaina families who like to camp like we do, so please ask for our Kamaina discount if you are a resident of Hawaii. We want to encourage our locals and residents to go out and enjoy the nature and island as well.

We offer an affordable, convenient and comfortable solution to your family's travel needs in Maui for tourists and locals alike.
